The skills interface.
A player levels up a skill.

Skills are a player's attributes that can be advanced throughout the game. Skills are trained by repeating actions that give experience in the skill until enough experience is earned to advance to the next level. Skills range from cooking food, to chopping trees and to casting magic. Some skills are "interlaced", meaning that they can be used together. For example, logs obtained from Woodcutting can be lit for Firemaking, which can then be used to cook food for Cooking.

There are 23 different skills in Grinderscape.

All skills start out at level 1 except for Hitpoints, which starts with level 10. Players can advance a skill to level 99. After that, they can increase their experience up to 200,000,000 but get no more levels for doing so. See Hiscores for the relative rankings of the different skills.

Skills can be temporarily boosted through special equipment, items, Prayer, or potions.

Notable Skilling Area

The Resource Area is a small enclosure located east of the Deserted Keep. It is guarded by Mandrith. An entrance fee of 5,000,000 coins is required to enter the resource area. This is reduced depending on their Donator Rank. If a player logs out while inside the area, they will need to wait for the 8 second wilderness logout timer.

The resource area contains various Fishing, Woodcutting and Mining resources. Piles, a banknote exchange merchant, will note items obtained within the area for 50 coins per item. Players should be warned the area is in the Wilderness, and may be attacked by other players here. It is advised to bring extra coins in order to re-enter the area when logging out to help evade player killers.

The mine is one of many in Grinderscape where three iron rocks can be mined without moving, thus ideal for power-mining. It also contains two runite golems, which can be killed then mined for runite ores. There is also a permanent fire, which allows fishers to cook their dark crabs without the need to create a fire. In addition, there is a furnace and anvil within the area, making it unique for being a place where the whole cycle from mining ores to stackable smithing produce can be done within very short distances.

The fastest way to the resource area is the Edgeville Teleport Lever.

Max Cape & Max Hood

Max Cape Emote.

o5QjWWZ.png TDXKygn.png The max cape is a cape available to players who have attained level 99 in all 23 skills. It is sold by Mac for 2,277,000 coins (99,000 for each of the 23 skills). Mac is located on an island west of the Warriors' Guild, beyond the ladder that leads down to level 106 Cyclopes. To reach him, the player needs a pickaxe and an axe, as well as level 99 in Agility, Crafting, Construction, Defence, Mining, and Woodcutting.

The total level a player needs for the max cape is 2,277, the minimum amount of experience required being 299,791,913. When purchased, it comes along with a corresponding hood. Its stats are equivalent to a trimmed skillcape. It inherits all skillcape perks from other skillcapes. Like the ranging cape, a Vorkath's head can be used on the max cape to increase its ammo-saving effects to match that of the Ava's assembler. If a player has already used a Vorkath's head on a ranging cape prior to obtaining a max cape they do not need to use another on the max cape. Like Ava's devices, the max cape is affected by metallic interference.

Mac will purchase excess max capes for 1,821,600 coins. This can only be done if the player has both the hood and cape in their inventory. Other max cape variants can be refunded in the same manner.

Obtainable Skilling Pets

These pets are obtained by training a specific skill, with the chance of obtaining one being based on the player's level in the corresponding skill and the base chance of the activity being performed.

Base chances are found on the individual page for each pet. A player's chance of receiving a skilling pet does not increase past level 99, with only one exception: players with 200 million experience in the corresponding skill will be fifteen times more likely to receive the skilling pet.

As the rates use the player's base level, temporary skill boosts such as the dragon pickaxe's special attack or invisible boosts in areas such as the Woodcutting Guild do not affect the rate at which players can obtain these pets.
